International Conference on Urban Construction and Environment to Open
An international conference on urban construction and the environment in the 21st century is scheduled to open tomorrow in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
By mid-day today, some 340 delegates from 26 countries had signed up for the three-day conference, which is jointly sponsored by the United Nations Center for Human Settlements, China's Ministry of Construction and the People's Government of Chengdu City.
In the following three days, the delegates will discuss such topics as sustainable development strategies for cities, city management, housing and the attainment of housing finance.
