Chinese Military Institutes Initiate Tele-Education

Two Chinese military institutes opened a tele-education class October 14 through the nation' s military information network.

The remote learning course between Changsha National Defense Science and Technology University in Hunan Province and Nanjing PLA University of Science and Engineering in Jiangsu Province is a pilot on-line military training in China.

More than 100 military officers watched the whole education process at a conference showing China's military training achievements.

China has established a network system and nearly 80 military training databases to be used in military tele-education. More than 2,000 multi-media software programs for the purpose are also developed so far, according to military officials.
