China Enrolls 1.12 Million Undergraduates Online

A total of 845 Chinese universities and colleges recruited 1.12 million students via the Internet this year.

An official with the Ministry of Education (MOE) said that 21 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China enrolled students online, up 11 percent over last year.

More than 80 percent of Chinese universities and colleges recruited 54.75 percent of all the students on the Internet, he said.

China will promote online enrollment in the next few years, the official said.
