China Netcom, Red Flag Software Tie Up in Internet Resolution
China Network Telecom Co (China Netcom) and Red Flag Software Co Ltd recently signed agreement in Beijing to ally in Internet resolution business, ranging from network system, ASP (application service provider) and information home appliances.
China Netcom, the constructor of China fiber network CNCnet, provides multiple media services. And Red Flag Software, which is funded by Software Research Center of China Academy Sciences, has long been devoted to the development of Linux operation system.
Under the alliance, China Netcom will construct its web and mail systems with the help of Red Flag, which will cut the constructing cost greatly. The two companies will co-design and develop price-counting system, as well as provide system software for ASPs. In addition, Red Flag Software will get support from China Netcom to develop its enbedded Linux system for set-top boxes, mobile phones and personal digital assistants.
