15,000 Scientific Achievements Showcased at Shenzhen High-Tech Fair

More than 15,000 individual scientific achievements are displayed at the second China International High-Tech Fair that opened Thursday in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong province.

Organizations and companies of 21 countries and regions, as well as 44 multinationals, are exhibiting their latest scientific achievements in fields such as computers, information technology, biology and new materials, according to the organization committee.

The fair features displays and trading of high-tech achievements, and high-tech forums.

Four Chinese ministries, Chinese academies of sciences and engineering, 26 Chinese universities, 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, as well as five large cities have sent their delegations and opened business booths at the fair.

This year's high-tech fair has given more space to investors, said the organizers, so this fair has attracted more overseas venture investors than the previous one.

The second China International High-Tech Fair is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Information Technology and Chinese Academy of Sciences. It will close on October 17.
