4th National Farmers Sports Meet to Be Held in Mianyang
The 4th National Farmers Sports Meet will be held Oct. 29-Nov. 4 in Mianyang, Sichuan Province. Three years' preparations have been made to hold the Meet and in the place of these there is an Organization Committee that has been formally formed.
Sports teams from 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities all over China will participate in contests under 13 categories of events including track and field, pingpong, swimming, Chinese chess, Wushu, dragon boat race, etc. Taiwan will send a 40-odd-member sports delegation, the second one from Taiwan Province since it sent its first sports delegation to the country's 2nd Farmers Sports Meet in 1992, to take part in the 4th National Farmers Sports Meet. At the meet will be also be represented by sports delegations from Hong Kong and Macao.
