Chinese Consultant in British Royal Society

Zhou Heng, an academician from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was recently invited to act as the consultant of British Royal Society for three years.

Zhou, also a mechanics professor at Tianjin University, will work on the editing consultant committee for publication of category A, which includes math, physics and projects.

Founded in 1660, British Royal Society is now a supreme academic institution in Britain and is also one of the most professional academic organizations in the world.

The functions of the institution is to discover the most outstanding scientific achievements, support the research and application efforts of the world's advanced science and promote international exchanges. It has 120 British members and 100 foreign members at present.

Professor Zhou is famous for his academic achievement in hydromechanics research in China. He has won second place at the National Natural Science Awards and was elected as the academician of CAS in 1993.
