Military Training Achievements Show Starts at Major Site

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) started Friday morning the largest ever show of military training achievements since its 1964 large-scale contest of military skills at its major site at the foot of Beijing's Yanshan Mountain.

According to authoritative sources, the show will focus on new "three striking" items and new "three defending" items.

The three new striking items includes striking at stealth planes, cruise missiles and armored helicopters while the three defending items are defending against precise striking, electronic interference and detecting surveillance.

The old three striking items and three defending items were striking at tanks, planes, airborne troops and defending against atomic, chemical and biological wars.

The two-day show includes field training, on-line contest and theoretical exchanges.

The show also has three sub-sites in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northeast China and waters of the Bohai Sea respectively.

Over 10,000 PLA men are participating in the training show involving fast-responding troops, amphibian armored forces, digital artillery forces, special armed forces, marine corps and other PLA units.
