Oracle Enlightens Chinese E-business
US-based Oracle, a leading e-business solution provider, has brought its experience and technology to Beijing to help the country's growing population of fledgling e-business developers.
The two-day Oracle iDevelop 2000 conference, which concluded in the nation's capital on Tuesday, was attended by over 2,000 e-business application developers, independent software developers, Internet developers, database developers/managers and Internet service and content providers throughout China.
The conference, part of a globally-oriented megaplan developed by some of the United States' largest computer-related companies, was designed to introduce technologies that would enable e-businesses to use the Oracle Internet Platform to create custom software to suit their various needs.
According to the plan, Oracle will team up with Hewlett Packard, Intel and Sun Microsystems to conduct similar conferences in 22 additional cities worldwide for the purpose of spreading technology and know-how to countries which are still in the process of developing widespread Internet use.
As a part of this effort, Oracle is currently offering a global training programme for those wishing to become Oracle Certified Professionals (OCPs).
OCPs are globally recognized senior technical talents, and OCP staff members have become a symbol of the technological strength of an enterprise.
There are a total of 238 OCPs in China, most of whom work in Beijing and other coastal cities.
