"The Hi-tech Forum" is one of the highlights of last year's China International Hi-tech Fair (CIHF). This year CIHF has invited some Nobel Prize laureates, domestic and foreign famous scientists, CEOs from famous transnational companies as well as promising young persons in some front fields to deliver speeches. A batch of world-level sci-tech elites will gather in Shenzhen again. Apart from theme lectures, this year's CIHF will also hold 18 technology seminars on IT, biotechnology and new material.
Capitalists from domestic and foreign investment institutions will play the leading role in the fair. Four of the ten hi-tech forums will be on the special topic of start-up investment. Meanwhile, relevant conferences, such as the World Securities Market Summit, all kinds of start-up investment lectures and "the Analysis and Guidance Meeting on the GEM listing", will also be held during the fair. The World Securities Market Summit has invited representatives from some world-famous stock markets and venture investment institutions to attend.
The second board market has been decided to be set up in Shenzhen. Securities industry insiders believe that the aim of holding so many conferences on capital market and venture investment during the fair is to give impetus to the second board market. In fact, in last year's CIHF, besides e-commerce and knowledge economy, the establishment of venture investment mechanism has become the hot topic. But compared with that of last year, this year's CIHF will deal with more concrete matters. Besides the enterprises which will exhibit their products during the fair, those private companies and medium and small-sized hi-tech enterprises which are in dire need for capital are also expected to attend the fair to meet the investors.
