China's 11th National Book Fair Opens

China's largest book fair, the 11th National Book Fair, opened Thursday at Nanjing International Exhibition Center in east China's Jiangsu Province.

More than 120,000 publications from 1,500 publishing companies across China are on display at 15 exhibition halls in the center, which covers an area of 180,000 square meters.

The organizing committee for the book fair also opened a website on the fair.

Besides the opening ceremony, the local government also arranged a series of activities, including art shows and performances, to mark the event.

Located in China's eastern coast, Jiangsu Province is one of China's economic and cultural giants. Earlier this month, China's largest art festival was also held there.
