Senior CPC Official Meets African Guests

Jia Qinglin, member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee, met Thursday evening with three African guests who attended the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.

The three guests were Organization of African Unity Secretary-General Salim Ahmed Salim, first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda Eriya Kategaya, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and French Countries of Gabon, Jean Ping.

Jia, who is also the secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, said that China will continue to develop and consolidate its friendly cooperation with African countries.

He said that Beijing, the capital city of China, is willing to strengthen its cooperation with Africa continent in various areas.

The Beijing municipal government also held a grand reception for their African guests who attended the forum, which ended today.
