11 Injured in Kashmir Blast

At least 11 people, including two security personnel, were injured when a grenade hurled by militants exploded Wednesday afternoon near the main branch of the State Bank of India in the heart of Srinagar, Kashmir, an official spokesman said.

The blast took place around 12:55 hours at the same spot where a massive car bomb claimed 15 lives on August 10.

Militants had tossed the grenade towards a parked security car but it missed the target, inuring 11 pedestrians, including two securitymen.

According to the Press Trust of India, people ran helter-skelter and shopkeepers downed their shutters and movement of traffic also came to a standstill for quite some time.
