Homing Pigeon Race to Be Held in Beijing
The 2000 world homing pigeon championship is to held in
Beijing
from October 12-15 with the racing pigeons from 17 countries and regions participating.
More than 1,000 homing pigeons will take off in the starting city Anyang, Henan province, 500 kilometers southwestern of Beijing. All the racing pigeons had taken some training fly since August.
It is the first time that the annual homing pigeon championship to be held in an Asian country and the three legs event will be continued in Taipei,
Taiwan
of China and Cape Town of
South Africa
after the Beijing race.
