Israeli Jets Conduct Mock Raids Over Gaza Airport

Four Israeli F-16 aircraft flew over Gaza airport on Wednesday evening and conduct mock raids over the airport and the security buildings nearby, Palestinian officials said.

It was the first time that the Israeli forces use F-16 jet fighters to intimidate the Palestinians since the outbreak of the two weeks of bloody clashes between the two sides on the Palestinian territories, which have claimed nearly 100 lives, mostly Palestinians, and injured more than 2,000 others.

Israel Radio also confirmed the sorties but no further information is available so far.

Overnight Saturday, Israel banned all flights from using the airport in the Gaza Strip with the exception of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's plane.
