Cold Front Sweeps Through North China

A cold front has been moving southeastward across the northern half of China to lower temperatures by an average 8-10 degrees Centigrade, according to the Beijing-based Central Meteorological Station on Tuesday.

Since October 6, the northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has been hit by snowstorms, with temperatures plunging by 6- 12 degrees Centigrade.

In the coming three days, the cold front is expected to attack the country's northwestern, northeastern, Yellow River, Huaihe River and Hanjiang River areas, causing moderate to heavy rain, according to the station.

Parts of northern and northeastern areas will see a mercury drop of 11-12 degrees.
