Chinese Paralympic Delegation Leaves Beijing for Sydney
A 122-strong Chinese sports delegation left
Beijing
Wednesday evening for Sydney to participate in the 11th Paralympic Games slated for October 18-29.
The 87 amateur athletes in the Chinese delegation are to compete in 159 events of six sports -- athletics, swimming, table tennis, weightlifting, shooting and judo.
This is the largest Chinese delegation for the world's highest-level competitions for the disabled athletes ever since China made the Games debut at Los Angeles in 1984.
