Chinese Vice Premier Meets Tunisian Foreign Minister

Sino-Tunisian relations have been satisfactory, said Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen Tuesday in a meeting with Habib Ben Yahia, minister of foreign affairs of Tunisia.

The Tunisian foreign minister is here attending the China-Africa Cooperation Forum -- Ministerial Conference Beijing 2000, which opened today.

Qian welcomes Yahia to attend the three-day forum, and expressed the hope that the friendly relations between China and Tunisia would develop steadily.

Yahia said that Tunisia and China enjoy long-term friendship, and that bilateral relations have developed smoothly in recent years.
