HK Security Official to Attend Asian Anti-Crime Meeting

Hong Kong Secretary for Security Regina Ip left Hong Kong Tuesday for Beijing to attend the Asia Crime Prevention Foundation's 8th World Conference.

On October 13, Ip will sign an arrangement with the Chinese Ministry of Public Security on the establishment of a notification mechanism, said a spokesman for the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The mechanism is applicable to Hong Kong residents detained in the Chinese mainland and the Chinese mainland residents prosecuted in Hong Kong, said the spokesman.
