China to Focus on Applied Satellites and Carrier Rockets

According to the news from the "World Space Week", China's space technology will be focused on the development of applied satellites and carrier rockets.

China is going to develop mainly large-sized carrier rockets of low cost, non-poison and non-pollution and of high reliability at the beginning of the 21st century. In the meanwhile she will further raise the reliability and suitability of the carrier rockets, cut cost and shorten the interval of launching.

Moreover, China will center on developing the satellites sharing platform technology of large-capacity at the static orbit and the large-capacity communication satellites. So that she'll gradually be able to set up an applied satellite system for a long and stable operation, which is urgently needed by national economy in the fields of communications, meteorology, resources and other aspects. In addition, further efforts will still be made to strengthen the study of spacecraft power, propelling and monitoring technologies.

China is going to study and develop manned space technology in order further to push ahead the transformation of the results of space technology to be applied in national economy.
