Over 100 Big Companies to Attend Forum in West China

Over 100 internationally-known companies and 150 Chinese key enterprises are to attend the West Forum later this month in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, said the preparatory committee Monday.

Sixty-nine of the 113 participating foreign companies are seen in the World's top 500 companies list.

Presidents and vice-presidents from such companies as International Finance Corporation, IBM, Boeing, Motorola, LG. and Toyota will attend the forum, Tan Li, preparatory committee official, said today.

Board chairmen and general managers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will also be present at the forum to be held on October 20-22.

Taking part are also leaders from 77 enterprises in Chinese inland areas, including China Pacific Insurance Company Ltd., China Everbright Group and Hope Group.

Many foreign and domestic entrepreneurs have requested speech time at the forum. Some delegations, like British-Chinese Trade Council, New York Life Assurance International, International Finance Corporation and large delegations from California are to sponsor sub-sessions during the forum.

Twelve provinces, autonomous regions and Chongqing municipality in west China will hold press conferences respectively, according to Tan.
