PNA, Israel, U.S. to Jointly Observe Security in GazaThe Palestinian National Authority (PNA), Israel and the U.S. reached an agreement on Sunday to set up a joint operation unit on security in Gaza Strip. The unit will observe the security situation and deal with problems that may crop up in Gaza Strip, said PNA director of public security Abdul-Razzaq al-Magaida. The agreement was reached at a Palestinian-Israeli meeting, during which the Palestinian side voiced its anger at the Israeli military operation at the Shuhada intersection Sunday. Several Palestinians were killed and dozens others injured by Israeli gunfire at the crossroads. Magaida said the two sides agreed to stop all unilateral steps under the agreement. Israeli forces will carry out cease-fire completely and open the Netzarim road while the Palestinian side will stop "terrorist acts" against Israel and prevent the demonstrators from approaching "friction areas."
