Western Japan Rocked by Another Strong Quake
A fairly strong earthquake rocked western
Japan
Sunday, two days after a more powerful tremor buckled streets, knocked down houses and paralyzed traffic for hours in a nearby region, officials said.
The magnitude 5.4 earthquake was centered 6.2 miles beneath eastern Shimane state, located 380 miles southwest of Tokyo, the Meteorological Agency said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, said Shimane police official Masayuki Murakami.
