Photoelectricity Science Park Set up in Xi'an
A science park developing photoelectricity products has recently been set up in Xi'an City,capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.กก
Sinochem, China National Chemical Import and Export Company,and the Xi'an Institute of Optical and Fine Mechanics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a contract to jointly invest 300 million yuan (US $35 million) to develop photoelectricity technologies and products in the park.กก
Photoelectricity technology, one of the leading techniques in information industry, can be applied to video telephones, tele-education, health care and e-commerce, according to an expert.กก
The total investment of the science park is estimated to be one billion yuan. In the coming decade, the output value of the science park is expected to reach 50 billion yuan. Currently,there are dozens of large-sized enterprises, institutes and universities engaged in photoelectricity technology in Xi'an.
