Jilin Draws More Foreign Funds

Northeast China's Jilin Province utilized 250 million US dollars of foreign investment in the first eight months of this year, up 16.6 percent on an annual basis.

Statistics show that contractual foreign investment for the province reached 450 million US dollars, up 86.7 from the same period last year.

In the eight-month period, Jilin approved the establishment of 267 foreign-funded enterprises, an increase of 19.7 percent.

Of the approved establishments, 19 enterprises involved more than ten million US dollars of foreign investment each.

The combined sales income of Jilin's foreign-funded businesses are expected to reach 28 billion yuan (3.37 billion US dollars) this year, according to local sources.

The province has now 3,686 foreign-funded enterprises, involving a total investment of 10.34 billion US dollars.
