Israel, Palestine Agree to Resume Talks Once Calm ReturnsUS Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said on Friday that Israeli and Palestinian negotiators have agreed in principle to come to Washington to resume peace talks if West Bank and Gaza become calm."When calm is restored, the president has invited the negotiators from both sides to come to Washington to see about resuming the peace talks," Albright said in an interview with the Fox News. The secretary said it would be very difficult to reopen talks so long as the violence continues. On Friday, clashes continued in the West Bank and Gaza Strip for the ninth day, which is called a "day of rage." Israeli troops reportedly shot and killed another six Palestinian protesters, bringing the total death toll to nearly 80, most of them Palestinians.
