Putin Calls For Peaceful Solution to Yugoslav Crisis

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday called on Yugoslavia's political forces to seek a peaceful solution to the present crisis for the sake of the people.

Putin said that all controversies should be settled through peaceful means, and that other actions cannot help solve the issues that Yugoslavia is facing.

Putin said Russia is prepared to do its best to help Yugoslavia out of its present crisis and isolation from the international community.

According to another report, upon his return to Moscow after his trip to India, Putin told the press that Russia holds that Yugoslavia should remain a unified country.
