Japanese High-Tech Konami Invests in Shanghai

Entertainment software giant, Konami Co., has recently set up its Shanghai branch in the Pudong New District.

With its annual global sales totaling 1.36 billion U.S. dollars and profits exceeding 300 million U.S. dollars, the Japanese firm plans to take advantage of the resources in Pudong to increase its global development.

Konami has established branches in the United States, Europe and Hong Kong.

The popular entertainment products developed by the company include dancing carpet software and hardware and live football game software.

Local officials said the investment is expected to facilitate the high-tech industry.
