Chinese Olympic Delegation Strives for World Second

Sources from the Chinese Olympic delegation at Sydney say that all leading personnel and coaches were called to a emergency meeting held today and asked to make most of the fine situation created to wrest the highest scores especially 10m diving title.

Yuan Weimin, leader of the Chinese Olympic delegation, said Sydney Olympics is near the end and we still rank world second till now for we have given full play to strong points and seized the opportunity.

Yuan emphasized that we should clearly recognize that our current strength in sports is not world second.

Yuan said, we can't say that China will win world second for Sydney Olympics has not finished yet. We must seize the opportunity to compete with Russia.

We must try our best to win the diving title. This gold is important for both Chinese and Russian teams for it is the key of final rating.

Yuan also said, " I believe the Chinese diving team has the strength and courage to win the gold. The Chinese Olympians must try their best in coming events of taekwondo, and track and field. In a word, we must make all efforts in the Sydney Olympics even there is only one ray of hope.
