Monica Lewinsky to Report on American Culture for British TV Show

Monica Lewinsky will be bringing a little bit of America to British TV in November, but her viewers won't hear the former White House intern talk about the presidential election, her publicist said Sept. 24.

Lewinsky has agreed to be host of six 4-minute segments dubbed ``Postcards from Monica'' for Britain's Channel 5, according to Juli Nadler, Lewinsky's spokeswoman.

Nadler said the segments would be a ``lighthearted look at American pop culture for British viewers.'' She declined to say how much Lewinsky would be paid.

Though the segments will air in November, Lewinsky won't be reporting on the United States' major event of that month--the presidential election.

``Monica's agreement with ITN, Channel 5, stipulates what has always been her position--that she refuses to make any public comment on any political issues, including the U.S. elections,'' Nadler said.

President Clinton's affair with Lewinsky led to his impeachment trial last year in the Senate. He was acquitted.

Since the scandal, Lewinsky has written a book and has started her own line of handbags.
