Intel Joins Hands with Capital OnlineChip maker Intel announced recently to join hands with China's popular portal Capital Online (www.263.net) to offer comprehensive solutions of value-added Internet data centre (IDC) services for China's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).Capital Online is one of the leading Internet service providers in China, accounting for a considerable market share in the service fields of Internet access service, data centre service as well as content service. The two parties agreed in a memorandum that Intel will co-operate with Capital Online to develop comprehensive solutions to server co-location services for SMEs. Intel will join with its channel partners for the development of a co-location platform and relevant applications, and offer consulting services for Capital Online in planning, designing, deployment, integration, operation and management of infrastructure and support systems. "The partnership between Intel and Capital Online shows that we will strive together to offer Internet service more quickly -- with higher quality and performance -- to e-business operators in China," said Jason Chen, vice-president of Intel and general manager of the Asia Pacific Region. The data centre of Capital Online that just started operation has adopted Intel NetStructure solutions. "It fully shows that IA (Intel architecture) based platform solutions of Intel have been widely deployed in high-end telecommunication systems and relevant fields," said Chen. Capital Online is the only domestic Internet service provider that accounts for a significant market share of ISP, IDC and ICP markets. It is the largest independent ISP and owns the first private telecommunication data centre. "Co-operating with Intel enables us to offer better value-added Internet access and data centre services, and facilitate our effort to become the largest service platform for application service providers (ASP) in China," said Li Xiaolong, chairman of Capital Online. "The co-operation with Intel is also a critical part of our strategy," said Li. Capital Online will actively approach global enterprises like Intel for strategic co-operation in order to offer more comprehensive and efficient services, he said.
