Premier Zhu Meets New Ambassadors from 16 Countries

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Saturday with new ambassadors from 16 countries.

The ambassadors are Declan Connolly from Ireland, Marie Lee from Mauritius, Mwenya Lwatula from Zambia, Kujtim Xhani from Albania, Oscar Medinaceli from Bolivia, Itzhak Shelef from Israel, B.A.B. Coonetilleke from Sri Lanka, Manuel Tomo from Equatorial Guinea, Rafet Akgunay from Turkey, Vladimir Gasparic from Slovenia, Shivshankar Menon from India, Soon Young Hong from the Republic of Korea, Alfred Nkurunziza from Burundi, Vladimir Rusakevich from Belarus, Josuel Villa from the Philippines, and El Hadj Djigui Camara from Guinea.

During the meeting, Premier Zhu extended a warm welcome to the new ambassadors, and said he hopes that they will work to promote relations between China and their respective countries in their terms.
