Anniversary of Sino-Bangladesh Diplomatic Ties Marked in Beijing

The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Sino-Bangladesh Friendship Association jointly hosted a reception Saturday to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh, which falls on October 4.

Qian Zhengying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, President Qi Huaiyuan of the CPAFFC, and Bangladeshi Ambassador to China Humayun Kamal were among those attending the reception.

Qi said in his toast that during the past 25 years, China and Bangladesh have conducted satisfactory cooperation in the areas of politics, economy and trade, science and technology and culture.

China values very much its friendship with Bangladesh, and strengthening their friendship not only is in the fundamental interests of the people of both countries but also is conducive to the peace and stability of the region and the whole world.

Kamal said there's a deep friendship between the two countries, and the Bangladeshi Government also values very much its relationship with China and hopes to increase its relationship in the areas of the economic and trade sector.

Bangladesh will also join China to safeguard the interests of the developing countries and to reinforce global peace and security, he added.
