Tibet to Hold Big Trade Fair in HK
The People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation will jointly hold a large "2000 Tibet Trade Fair" in Hong Kong" from 16th to 20th October, according to sources from the Information Office of the State Council.
The second trade fair of Tibet since 1985, "2000 Tibet Fair" to be held in Hong Kong has been designed by the Tibetan government as part of the effort to put into practice the central authority's west development strategy in Tibet.
To make "2000 Tibet Fair" a success, a special committee has already been formed to include many leading personnel from departments concerned. By now, the preparatory work has been under way.
Reliable sources say enterprises/products display, culture exhibition, trade talks and tourism promotion will be held amongst others during the "200 Tibet Trade Fair" to show Tibet's achievements in the past 40 or so years. At the fair, people will be helped to know Tibet's rich natural resources, local people's life and custom, the bright prospect of development facing Tibet and its good investment environment and preferential policies introduced.
