Tibet Gets Holiday Tourism Market in Gear

Recently, over 40 travel agencies and tourist hotels in Tibet all held promotion activities in order to occupy the upcoming National Day (October 1) tourist market, This indicates an all-round stimulation of the Tibetan holiday tourism market.

In recent years, with the rise of people's living standards and prolongation of festivals and holidays, holiday tourism has become the focus of efforts of tourism departments nationwide to develop home tourism. Tibet attracts visitors from home and abroad with its abundant tourism resources, rich ethnic culture and unique human landscape.

This year has seen a considerable increase in the number of travelers to Tibet compared to previous years. Statistics from the civil aviation department show that from January to August of this year, the number of travelers to Tibet exceeded 400,000. In view of the sharp rise in the number of tourists during the May Day holidays, various local travel services have arranged different lengths of holiday tourist itinerary, hotels and guesthouses have also offered preferential prices in order to attract more visitors.

At present, guestrooms in Tibet Plaza, Lhasa Hotel and other guesthouses, arranged for the National Day holidays, have all been engaged.
