Vietnamese Prime Minister Speaks Highly of Sino-Vietnam Friendship

Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai said the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China has been developing smoothly and hoped to further strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Khai made the remarks while receiving five Chinese friendship association delegations, including the delegation of Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Sino-Vietnam Friendship Association, as well as delegations from Guangdong and Yunnan provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Khai, also Politburo member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, said that "Vietnam-China friendship was meticulously built up by late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and late Chinese leader Chairman Mao Zedong. We should continue to uphold the development of the friendship".

Now the two countries are making efforts to carry out the common awareness reached by the leaders of the two countries, fulfilling the task of demarcation of the Bei Bu Gulf and signing the fisheries agreement between the two countries, Khai noted, adding that this embodied the framework of "long-term, stable and good-neighborly relations with comprehensive cooperation oriented to the future" set by leaders of the two parties.

Chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association Nguyen Canh Dinh and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Qi Jianguo attended the reception.
