China Int'l Friendship Cities Conference Concludes

The 2000 China International Friendship Cities Conference concluded Thursday afternoon. During the three-day event, Chinese and foreign representatives exchanged views and experience on urban administration and construction.

In addition, 22 pairs of local cities signed agreements clinching their friendly ties during the conference. So far, the Chinese cities have forged friendly relations with more than 970 of their foreign counterparts.

Chen Haosu, vice-president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), said at the closing ceremony that China will introduce more foreign cities to its western cities and enhance friendly contact with them in developing countries.
