Foreign Businessmen Can Be Shareholders of West-to-East Gas Pipeline Project
Zhao Ai, deputy head of the Comprehensive Planning Department of the Western Region Development Office under the State Council, recently said that China welcomes foreign businessmen to invest in the project of piping gas from west to east. They can hold shares of said project. This represents a special State policy for encouraging foreign investment in China's western region development.
Zhao Ai said that as another special policy, the construction of urban natural gas pipe network has been listed in the scope of cooperation in China's opening to the outside world. He indicated that foreign businessmen, who invest in the west-to-east gas pipelining project, can enjoy the preferential policies formulated by the State and relevant departments on communication, energy and other infrastructure construction, as well as the preferential State policies on the large-scale development of the western region.
