China Delegates Power to Set Admission Fees for Scenic SpotsChina's State Development Planning Commission Thursday issued a circular allowing provincial government pricing departments to set admission fee rates for the State-level scenic spots.This authorization covers 20 scenic spots in different provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, including the Palace Museum, the Summer Palace, and the Great Wall at Badaling in Beijing, the Potala Palace in Tibet, the Terra-cotta Warriors Museum at the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin Dynasty in Shaanxi Province, and the Megao Grottoes in Dunhuang of Gansu Province. According to the circular, related pricing departments must organize hearings before setting any admission fees, and tighten control over price readjustment margins and intervals, in a bid to maintain reasonable rates for different scenic spots and reasonable differences among the same category of scenic spots and prevent unauthorized hikes of admission fees. |
