China Issues 90 Billion Yuan of T-bonds

China has issued 90 billion yuan (US$10.84 billion) of treasury bonds so far this year, 80 billion yuan (US$9.34 billion) from the State Development Bank and 10 billion yuan (US$1.20 billion) from the China Export and Import Bank, Thursday's China Securities reported.

The State Development Bank plans to issue a total of US$170 billion yuan (US$20.48 billion) of T-bonds this year, including 150 billion yuan (US$18.07 billion) of long-term T-bonds and 20 billion yuan (US$2.41 billion) of short-term.

With the goal of issuing 24.5-billion-yuan (US$2.95 billion) of T-bonds this year, the China Export and Import Bank has issued 10 billion yuan (US$1.20 billion) worth of 10-year T-bonds, the longest term the bank has ever issued.

As policy financial institutions, the two banks began to issue market-oriented treasury bonds in 1998.
