Foreign Entrepreneurs Advisory Meeting Opens in Tianjin

Thirty-one entrepreneurs from the United States, Japan, Germany, Australia, and other foreign countries were invited to offer suggestions and proposals for the development of Tianjin at a advisory meeting which started Wednesday.

The two-day meeting, the third of its kind, focuses on how to further develop finance, insurance and tourism in Tianjin.

Li Shenglin, mayor of Tianjin, said that the municipality intends to become a modern port city as well as an economic center in North China in ten years.

Foreign entrepreneurs are welcome to make suggestions to help Tianjin's economic development, he said.

According to local officials, Tiajin accepted 15 proposal by business leaders from Toyota of Japan, Eaton of the United States, and other foreign companies.
