Sixth China Art Festival Opens
Country Art Festival Held in East China Province

, who is also chairman of the Sixth China Art Festival, announced the opening of the top level art festival at Wutaishan Gymnasium in downtown Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.
Minister of Culture Sun Jiazheng gave a short speech at the opening ceremony before local performers staged the folk song and dance "Ode to Jasmine."
During the 16-day art festival, domestic and overseas art groups will provide audience with 105 performances, making the event the largest since the first national art festival was held in 1987 in Beijing.
