Vietnamese Prime Minister Concludes China Visit

Visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai concluded his China visit and left for home Thursday.

Earlier, Zhou Yongkang, secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, met with Phan and briefed him on how Sichuan is implementing China's strategy to develop its western regions.

Zhou said that great changes have taken place in Sichuan since it began reform and opening some 20 years ago. He expressed the hope that Phan's visit will further economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.

Phan said that his visit was successful, and bilateral friendly relations have struck root in the hearts of the people of the two countries.

He invited Sichuan's enterprises to invest in Vietnam, and said that the Vietnamese government will create investment opportunities for Chinese enterprises.
