Macao SAR to Issue Stamps for Monkey King

The Postal Services of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government will on Saturday begin the issuing of a set of new stamps featuring Monkey King, the main character in a mythological Chinese novel.

Entitled "Literature and its Characters -- A Journey to the West," the set has six stamps with a total face value of 13.5 patacas (1.7 U.S. dollars), Lau Wai Meng, an official with the Postal Services, said at a press conference Thursday.

A total of 750,000 sets of the stamps will be issued. Other postal products include a souvenir sheet, the first-day cover and an introduction paper.
