Ministry Hosts Reception to Mark National Day

Some 300 overseas Chinese leaders and representatives were invited to attend a grand reception held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday evening to mark the National Day, which falls on October 1.

During the reception, Liu Guchang, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, extended his heartfelt welcome and greetings to the attendants and overseas Chinese.

Liu said that overseas Chinese have made considerable contributions to the economic construction of China.

Liu also expressed his hope that overseas Chinese will continue to play a positive role in China's economic development, the reunification of the motherland, and developing friendly relations with other countries and regions.
