Dalian Hosts Acrobatics Contest
The fifth "Gold Lion" National Acrobatics Contest will be held in Dalian, North China's Liaoning Province, between October 17 and 22. A total of 1,000 acrobats from 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, the people's army and some other units will perform in 69 programmes during the six-day-long contest, which is reputed to be the most intense of its kind in China.
For the first time, an acrobatics troupe from Taiwan will also take part in the contest. Troupes from France, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and the United States will view the contest.
