Construction of Optical Valley Sci-Tech Park
A person in charge of Donghu New Technology Development Zone of Wuhan disclosed that Central China Industrial University Sci-Tech Park, the 1,000 mu-hi-tech industry park now under busy construction will produce an average annual profit of 10 million yuan per mu (1 hectare=15 mu) in three to five years.
Construction of the Feature Park
Central China Industrial University Sci-Tech Park is a multi-functional hi-tech industry park that combines research and development, daily life, production and commercial business in one entity. The Sci-Tech Park, located in Jianghan Alluvial Plain, is of the subtropical continental monsoon climate with the average annual temperature standing at 16 degree C. The Park makes full use of its topographical characteristics of a gardening area and keeps its original natural features of three mountains and two rivers. The park will be covered by 700 mu of various flowers and plants. The afforestation rate is as high as 70 percent.
Central China Industrial University Sci-Tech Park is also a hi-tech information collecting and distributing center. It will set up a hi-tech communication network and a special data line which will be connected to Wuhan Information Port. Meanwhile, it will establish a TV cable network and communication network and set up an automatic management system in the gardening area.
Currently, six enterprises including the Central China Digital-Controlled System Company Ltd. are busily moving into the Central China Industrial University Sci-Tech Park, the annual output value of them will reach 300 million yuan this year. After three to five years of construction and development, the Park will complete seven projects valued at over 100 million yuan each. By then, the annual output value will exceed 10 billion yuan.
Establishment of Feature Industries
Since the 1980s, the vertical scientific research project undertaken by the Central China Sci-Tech University has always been in the front ranks among the nation's colleges and universities. It has been in the leading position at home in the fields of laser technology and equipment, numerical-controlled technology and equipment, modern manufacturing technology, automation technology of electric power system, image identification and information processing, computer software, communication technology, comprehensive anti-counterfeit, biological projects and new materials, and it has thus obviously enjoyed technological superiority.
Huagong Laser, relying on the national laser key laboratory which represents the highest level of China's laser technology, undertakes the construction task of Laser Processing National Engineering Research Center. It has formed a product scale of high-power laser device and complete sets of equipment of laser processing system. It is in the leading position at home in terms of technological level. Huagong Image is China's biggest laser comprehensive anti-counterfeit serial products-producing base and was designated as anti-counterfeit products manufacturer by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Administration of Customs, State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and the Ministry of Public Security. Gaoli Electronics is China's biggest producer of PTC electronic components, which obtained UL authentication by the United States in 1996. In 1998, it successfully passed ISO9002 authentication and ranked first in economic returns and profits and taxes in the same trade.
Presently, Central China Industrial University Sci-Tech Park Company Ltd. is vigorously constructing the first-rate university sci-tech park at the highest speed, the best quality, the lowest cost and the most scientific program, so that the sci-tech park will finally become the training base, enterprising personnel training base, system innovation experimental base, projects evaluation and screening center and financing center for hi-tech enterprises.
