Trucks Donated to Tibet

Central China's Hubei Province recently donated 42 Dongfeng brand trucks and 8 cars to Tibet.

Sources with the Tibetan government said these trucks and cars will be given to 40 towns and townships, including the Yumai Township, the smallest of its kind in China in terms of population.

In the past five years the Hubei Province has donated a total of 180 million yuan (25 million US dollars) to Tibet in 123 projects ranging from infrastructure construction to educational improvements, a local official source said.

China has long encouraged its provinces and municipalities to assist Tibet in all fields in an effort to help Tibet achieve better and faster development.
