Guangdong Has 10 Million Mobile Phone Users

The number of mobile phone users in south China's Guangdong Province exceeded 10 million Tuesday, according to Guangdong Mobile Tecommunications.

The figure represents a massive growth in the number of users considering that the total number of mobile phone users was only one million in 1995.

The number of mobile phone users has increased over 100 percent each year since 1995 and hit 5 million in July, 1999.

Guangdong accounts for one sixth of China's mobile telecommunications market in terms of its number of mobile phone users and volume of the networks business.
