China to Develop Tourism on Qingliang PeakChina plans to develop tourism on the picturesque Qingliang Peak in east China's Anhui Province. The local government and a Hong Kong company will jointly invest 200 million yuan (about 24 million US dollars) in the tourism project.The peak, with an elevation of 1787.4 meters above sea level, is famous for clouds, stone forests and rare animals and plants. The peak is the top point of the Tianmu Mountain and covers an area of 1,038 hectares. It is situated in Zhupu, a well-known historic and cultural township in China. The first phase of the project will be completed in five years at a cost of 30 million yuan, mainly in infrastructure construction. |
